30 Sep: A very successful WTL Presentation Dinner was held at Oxton on 16 Sep. The photographs are on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/groups/1815555@N22/ . They show in the reverse order in which I loaded them (don't know how to change that). WTL CM2 minutes and noticeof AGM will follow in next few days.
17 Aug: Hooton 1 Men gain promotion with an 8-0 win in rearranged match at Thorndale 2. Results Tables Problems published, subject to WTL CM2. WTL CM2 will be arranged soon.
14 Aug: Only 1 match to play Mens (rearranged match Thorndale 2 v Hooton 1) and it will decide who gains promotion from Div 2. Hooton 1 need 5 points to overtake Hoylake 1. There is also 1 card outstanding from 7 Aug.
Results Tables Problems published
6 Aug: Week 15 published (aditional Mens & Ladies data: Results Tables (assumed no problems).
Men 1st Division:N Cheshire 1 are relegated even if they win their rearranged match tomorrow at Wallasey M 1 8-0 and therefore tie with Thorndale 1 on points they will have won less matches.
Men 2nd Division: Helsby 1 are still favourites even after losing 7-3 at Hoylake 1. To overtake them Hooton 1 would need to gain 14 points (probably 2 8-0 wins required both at Helsby 1 on Monday and in the rearranged match at Thorndale 2 the Monday after) Hoylake 1 could sneak promotion over Hooton 1with a big win at home to Alderley 2 on Thursday coupled with Hooton 1 failing to pick up 9 points in their last 2 matches (see above).
Ladies1st Division: A disappointing end to the ladies season when potential winners Neston 1 failed to raise a team for the title decider. Wallasey M 1 are champions.
30 Jul: Mixed Week 14 published (including more recent results): Results Tables Rankings
Pdf versions: Results Tables Rankings
Men 1st Division: Prenton 1 are champions with RU Neston 1. Bertram 1 are relegated plus one of N Cheshire 1,Wallasey M 1 or Thorndale 1. N Cheshire 1 are the most likely because they are 7 points behind Thorndale 1 and have to go to Prenton 1 and play their rearranged match from 17 Jul at Wallasey M 1 (which could be critical - will Thorndale be at Wallasey Manor on 7 Aug to cheer Wallasey M 1 on?).
Men 2nd Division: Helsby 1 are favourites having an 11 point lead over Hooton 1 and play both Hooton 1 and Hoylake 1 in their last 2 matches. RU is between Hooton 1 & Hoylake 1. Hooton 1 are still 7 points ahead of Hoyalke 1 despite losing at home to Hoylake 1 6-3. Wooden spoon goes to Alderley 3 who will need to apply for reelection.
Pdf versions: Results Tables Ranjkings Problems
2nd Division: Alderley 1 win the division. Hooton 1's 11-7 win at Prenton 2 gain them prmotion by 1point from Neston 2 who beat the winners 9-8. Port Sunlight (12-5 winners at Upton 1) were only 3 points behind Neston 2. Thorndale 1's 10 all draw at Hoylake 2 was not quite enough only (3 points) to overtakePrenton 2 and avoid relegation.
3rd Division: Neston 3 win the division with Wallasey M 2 also promoted. P Sunlight 2 are relegated after losing 11-7 at home to Birkenhead 2 while Oxton 1 beat Cheshire Oaks 2 11-7 at Oxton so finishing only 6 points ahead.
4th Division: N Cheshire 1 confirmed their title with a 15-2 win at home to Bertram 2. Heswall 3 beat Prenton 3 11-8 in the promotion decider. Upton 2 are relegated by 4 points after losing 11-7 at Alderley 2.
5th Division:Neston 4 increased their advantage over Heswall 4 to ensure the title. Heswall 4 did enough at home to Wallasey M 3 to gain promotion. 4 sets the other way would have seen Wallasey Manor 3 take their place. Not being able to filed a full team early in the season probably cost Wallasey M 3 promotion. Oxton 2 lost 13-4 at home to Prenton 4 and are relegated.
6th Division:It is a double for Thorndale with both Thorndale 3 & Thorndale 4 gaining promotionion. Thorndale 4 beat closest rivals Pinewood 2 15-4.. The decider for the wooden spoon between Birkenhead 4 & N Cheshire 2 was won convincingly 15-2 by N Cheshire 2 to force Birkenhead 4 to apply for reelection.
Men 1st Division: Prenton 1 are champions with RU between Neston 1 & Prenton 2 which could go to the last match Prenton 2 v Neston 1. Relegation looks like Bertram 1 plus either N Cheshire 1 or Wallasey M 1. Thorndale 1 are probably safe by virtue of a 4-4 draw at N Cheshire 1.
Men 2nd Division: Helsby 1 are favourites RU between Hooton 1 & Hoylake 1. The 3 teams play each other in the final matches. Wooden spoon goes to Alderley 3 who will need to apply for reelection.
Ladies1st Division: Wallasey M 1 are favourites but Neston 1 could take it on the final match of the season (needing an 8-0 win) when they meet each other.
1st Division: Hoylake 1 v Neston 1 (11-7) has decided the title. 1 or 2 sets in favour of Neston would have taken it to last match, however Hoylake are champions for the first time - Heswall 2 are relegated
3rd Division: Neston 3 win the division with Wallasey M 2 also promote. It is between P Sunlight 2 and Oxton 1 for relegation. Oxton 1 have a 2pt advantage.
4th Division: N Cheshire 1 may need less than 10 pts to guarentee the title. RU is between Heswall 3 and Prenton 3. Heswall 3 entertain Prenton 3 with an 8 pt advantage. Relegation:is technically between Upton 2, Alderley 2 and Bertram 2. Upton 2 would need a big win at Alderley 2 to avoid the drop.
5th Division:Neston 4 have an 8 pt advantage over Heswall 4. Heswall 4 are at home to Wallasey M 3 with an 8pt advantage. Relegation: Oxton 2 need a very big win at home to Prenton 4 if they are to escape the drop. Neston 5 are safe after winning their last few matches
6th Division:It is a double for Thorndale with both Thorndale 3 & Thorndale 4 gaining promotionion unless Pinewood 2 beat Thorndale 4 16-0. The decider for the wooden spoon is between Birkenhead 4 & N Cheshire 2 with Birkenhead having an 8pt advantage.
Men 1st Division: Prenton 1 are champions with RU between Neston 1 & Prenton 2 which could go to the last match Prenton 2 v Neston 1. Relegation looks like Bertram 1 plus one of N Cheshire 1, Wallasey M 1 and Thorndale 1.N Cheshire 1 have the chance to overtake Thorndale 1 today on their shale. It may go to the final matches.
Men 2nd Division: Helsby 1 are favourites RU between Hooton 1 & Hoylake 1. The 3 teams play each other in the final matches. Wooden spoon looks like Alderley 3
Ladies1st Division: Wallasey M 1 are favourites but Neston 1 could take it on the final match of the season when they meet each other.
2nd Division: Alderley 1 are favourites with any one of Hooton 1, Neston 2 and P Sunlight 1 also gaining promotion. Relegation looks between Prenton 2 and Thorndale 1
3rd Division: Neston 3 & Wallasey M 2 are promote. Probably between P Sunlight 2 and Oxton 1 for relegation
4th Division: N Cheshire 1 are favourites with RU between Heswall 3 and Prenton 3. Prenton 3 play both Heswall 3 and N Cheshire 1. Relegation: Upton 2 are hot favourites
5th Division:After some surprising results it is between Neston 4 & Heswall 4 (only 2 points difference). Relegation: close between Oxton 2, Neston 5 & Birkenhead 3 with Oxton 2 in most danger.
6th Division:After a surprise result it looks like a double for Thorndale with both Thorndale 3 & Thorndale 4 gaining promotionion. The probable decider for the wooden spoon is between Birkenhead 4 & N Cheshire 2 and is the final match.
Men 1st Division: Prenton 1 are almost certain champions with RU between Neston 1 & Prenton 2. Relegation looks like Bertram 1 plus one of N Cheshire 1, Wallasey M 1 and Thorndale 1. It will probably go to the final match.
Men 2nd Division: Helsby 1 are almost certain champions with RU between Hooton 1 & Hoylake 1. Wooden spoon looks like Alderley 3
Ladies1st Division: Wallasey M 1 are favourites but Neston 1 could take it on the final match of the season when they meet each other. Bertram 1 get wooden spoon
